Places to eat in Haapsalu and Läänemaa

In the romantic small town of Haapsalu and small villages, hospitable people await you, surprising you with their sincerity and interest in history and culture. The guests who stayed here are remembered again and again with great respect.

Restaurant Kärme Küülik

Chunks of meat are grilled over an open fire and hare is prepared with the utmost respect for the delicious flavour of the rabbit. Our pizzas get their crisp edges in a wood-fired pizza oven specially brought here from Italy and pasta made with our own pasta maker is better than anything you could buy in a shop. Our wine cellar is full of flavour bouquets that perfectly complement the delicious meals and the beer is always cold.

Saare–Mõisa Coffee Shop

Saare-Mõisa Coffee Shop in Noarootsi serves you coffee and delicious cakes, also salads and soft drinks. The café is only open during summertime, otherwise upon advance notice.
Good to know: After visiting the café, go an see Lyckholm Museum and Saare Manor, also the nature trails in Silma Nature Reserve.

Restaurant Vaga Mama

Vaga Mama is an Asian eatery in Haapsalu serving Chinese, Thai, and Nepalese dishes. Our tasty and spicy dishes are made by Nepalese chefs. You can buy food to go or order by phone.

The menu includes traditional Asian soups, noodles, various sauces, and seafood. Make sure to try the frog legs – not every restaurant offers them!

Dirhami Fish Cafe

Dirhami Fish Cafe can be summarised with the phrase ‘good tastes and the sea’. Even though the cafe is located at a remote place, the journey there is completely worth it: the cafe is located on the beach, overlooking Osmussaar and the wonderful sunset. We also have a guest house so you can stay longer.

Our menu focuses on fish, largely on local fish. We recommend that you book a table in advance – this way, we can order enough raw ingredients, prepare, and bring in the right people.

Come and discover! We guarantee you a great experience.

Müüriääre Café

The highlighting features of Müüriääre Café are paintings by Epp-Maria Kokamägi, furniture by Jaak Arro and ceramics by Liisu Arro. As you walk in, the first thing you notice is the aroma of freshly-baked pastry which makes you feel like you are at you grandma’s house. Cushions, candles, salt lamps and a small fireplace add to the cozy ambience of the place. There are newspapers and magazines for adults to read and a boxful of rag dolls for children to play with.

Interesting to know: Making a choice is not easy. Try various salads, pasties, sandwiches, rolls and, of course, Müüriääre Café cakes.

Roslep Brewery and Forest Bar

Roslep Brewery awaits you in Noarootsi. Our small brewery, located under the Rooslepa pines, has grown out of a hobby and a love for brewing. We aim to offer old classics alongside new experiments.

We also organize a unique beer tour combining a pleasant nature stay with beer tasting.

Forest Bar offers the best combination — being outside and enjoying drinks. Enjoying Forest Bar drinks next to crisp snow and a hot campfire is especially wonderful!

In addition to light drinks, beer, and cocktails, we offer concert experiences by well-known Estonian musicians!

See you soon!
