Places to eat in Haapsalu and Läänemaa

In the romantic small town of Haapsalu and small villages, hospitable people await you, surprising you with their sincerity and interest in history and culture. The guests who stayed here are remembered again and again with great respect.

Blu Holm Restaurant

Blu Holm Restaurant is located in Haapsalu, in the Hestia Hotel Haapsalu Spa.
Always fresh, clean tastes, and colourful dishes – our menu is full of contrasts, but calm and harmonious at the same time, just like Estonians. The pleasantly cosy atmosphere, good music, sunsets, and tastes offer experiences for the whole family. The restaurant with the most beautiful view is waiting for you!
Interesting to know: the name Blu Holm means a beautiful view of the chain of plateaus connected to the mainland – the lowlands of Haapsalu and the beach of Väike Viik Lake.

Pub Kogre Kõrts

Pub Kogre Kõrts is a place where you can enjoy the smell, colours and sounds of nature and the sea. The pub is ideal for various gatherings; we can seat up to 100 people.

Come and spend a day outside by the sea!

A boat trip on a fishing boat followed by a refreshing “fisherman’s dinner” in the fishermen’s pub Kogre Kõrts. Sounds good, doesn’t it?

Bread and white bread workshop in Nõva Break tourist information café

Nõva Break offers rye bread and sourdough bread workshops upon reservation.
We have studied the exciting craft of bread baking for twelve years. By now, we have baked tens of thousands of loaves and we still do it with great pleasure!
The Nõva Break building can accommodate 5–6 people, but we can come to you with our materials and supplies. You only need a large table and an oven.
The workshop includes a bit of theory and baking with the help of a tutor. We will provide the instructions and the fermentation starter. While the bread is rising, which takes about 1–3 hours, you can hike in Nõva in the woods and by the sea.

Müüriääre Café

The highlighting features of Müüriääre Café are paintings by Epp-Maria Kokamägi, furniture by Jaak Arro and ceramics by Liisu Arro. As you walk in, the first thing you notice is the aroma of freshly-baked pastry which makes you feel like you are at you grandma’s house. Cushions, candles, salt lamps and a small fireplace add to the cozy ambience of the place. There are newspapers and magazines for adults to read and a boxful of rag dolls for children to play with.

Interesting to know: Making a choice is not easy. Try various salads, pasties, sandwiches, rolls and, of course, Müüriääre Café cakes.

Cafe-Restaurant Hapsal Dietrich

Café Dietrich has an impressive history; the creators of the new Hapsal Dietrich café are two families whose passion and hobbies include cooking, enjoying food, love for little cafés and respect for the history and old architecture of Haapsalu, as well as for furniture from the First Republic. Therefore, the café features decorative elements from the First Republic era, and we have tried to decorate it as it might have looked a century ago.
