Liivanõmme study trail

Liivanõmme trail starts from Nõva Nature Centre, runs along a stone-paved road dating back to World War I, then passes Allikjärve lake and then runs towards west to river Uuejõe. From there go along the beach range back towards Peraküla, over the Vanajõe riverbed and then you reach Lake Toatse and then back to Peraküla. The trail is suitable for those interested in forests, nature and local cultural heritage.
Good to know: The trail is dry, very suitable for walking. The length of the trail is 7.5 kilometres and it takes about 4 hours to complete it. You will find places for picnicking near Allikajärve and Uuejõe.

Nõva Church

Olev’s Church in Nõva originating from the 18th century is a cosy wooden beach-chapel-style church. The unique parchment images on its windows look like real stained glass at first glance. It is one of the few wooden churches preserved in Estonia, and also one of the smallest, measuring at only 13.6 x 7.1 metres.

When walking around in the churchyard, take a closer look at the iron crosses there. The crosses made by local blacksmiths are all unique – even the landlady von Ungern-Sternberg of Nõva Manor made herself her own cross. Interesting facts: When inside, take a look at the benches – benches for men and women have a different design. On top of the roof, there is a figure of a rooster. The organ was built by G.Terkmann.

Nõva Bakery and Tourist Information Centre

When you are driving to Nõva from Tallinn, you will see three red buildings on your right. The smallest one in the middle is home to a tourist information centre and cafe in the summer. It sells local bread, other baked goods, cold and hot drinks, and ice cream.
You can also rest here and gather information about the area’s attractions.
Nõva is a unique place with unspoiled nature, beautiful forests, lakes, and a 15 km long sandy beach. We have nice accommodation facilities, but it is also possible to enjoy camping at the camping grounds set up by the State Forest Management Centre.
