A popular children’s park is located in the big moat of Haapsalu Episcopal Castle and it attracts visitors with medieval attractions.
Come and have a look at a castle, a ship, a stone tug, a spider, a balance beam, different swingsets, and many other things.

The children’s park, just as the courtyard of the castle, can be visited for free and is suitable for guests of all ages.

When you are on a family vacation, it is important to know where the young ones can have a good time. The playground on Haapsalu’s Promenade is the best one for children and families, and it is open all-year-round.
Nearby, you will also find the summer café of Haapsalu Kuursaal (Resort Hall) and a bird-watching tower.

Haapsalu is a child-friendly town. On the corner of its main road and Mihkli Street you will find a cosy park where small kids can play on the slides and enjoy themselves on the swings. In summer it is a great place to just sit and relax – before taking a tour of the Old Town galleries or the Episcopal castle.

The activity park of Haapsalu Neurological Rehabilitation Centre on the Haapsalu promenade is intended for wheelchair users.
This is an important additional option for people who need a wheelchair to move due to an accident or illness. The park’s attractions help both young and older wheelchair users to enjoy the fresh air and exercise. The park offers new opportunities for more versatile and interesting trainings for people in rehabilitation.
In the park, you can swing, play basketball, and do moderate strength training for your hands or feet.

Haapsalu has been awarded the title of a Child Friendly City – the various playgrounds in the town are the proof of that. The playground at Posti Street is in the small park right next to the building of Haapsalu Town Government. The children can either climb, swing or play in the sandbox; the parents can sit comfortably on a bench and watch their children.

The Gulf Tagalaht and its surroundings in Haapsalu are an ideal place for kayaking. It’s also a great place to see many different bird species. Kayaking in autumn is a spectacle in itself because you can watch the migration of geese and common cranes. On the other hand, kayaking in summer is very pleasant in the sun. Often the water is too shallow even for kayaks, fortunately the route can be changed according to the group and water level. In addition, various sights can be seen, for example Haapsalu Kuursaal, different harbours, Suur Viik Bay, old Kalakombinaat, etc.

At the beginning of the kayaking trip, we always talk about water safety and teach basic paddling skills.

A kicksled hike in Matsalu National Park in winter!

We organise hikes in suitable weather conditions. The rules of the national park allow kicksledding in a unique area of the reserve until the end of February. From March, the bay belongs only to birds. If ice conditions allow, we will also go on a 6–8 km circle around the Haeska islets.

On the sea ice, you can ride on an ice carousel and get acquainted with ice fishing. Fishing is done with real coastal fishing traps. You can also buy fish. At the end of the trip in Tuulingi, we offer soup and talk about the past, present, and future of the place.

The price includes the hike and a meal.

Haapsalu Adventure Park is located in the beautiful Paralepa Park Forest (2 km from the city centre).
The adventure park has four different adventure trails with versatile games and almost 50 attractions (Tarzan jump, zip-line).
There is a children’s park where the trails are low and safe. Adults can find themselves descending and climbing from a height of 14 metres. All trails end with a zip-line descent.
We offer adventure opportunities all year round, depending on the weather conditions.
We offer joy and adventures for young and old. Bring your family, friends, or classmates!
Adventures are in the air!

The Paralepa outdoor gym in Haapsalu has seven different benches where you can do different types of muscle training and stretching exercises. The benches have manuals. The Paralepa outdoor gym is located near Fra Mare Thalasso Spa, next to the Paralepa Health Trail car park under a pine forest. The gym is also the starting point for the Paralepa Health Trails.

There are ski and hiking trails of different lengths and degrees of difficulty in Palivere. In winter, children can enjoy sledding on Palivere slopes.

The trails – which are 1, 2, 3, 6 and 7,3 km in length – can be used at different times of year for skiing, running, cycling, Nordic walking, and simply hiking depending on the preferences of the visitor; the area is also perfect for GPS games and orienteering. There is also a 1.5-kilometre-long lit trail
There is a car park for 100 cars, a warm outdoor toilet, and campfire sites at the start of the trail. You can also play disc golf (18 holes).
