Haapsalu Tchaikovsky Festival
27-30 June 2019
This summer, the Tchaikovsky festival in Haapsalu takes place for the third time! The Festival has been received well by the audience, the performers and also by the critics, and it gives us the courage to continue. Previously, our main concerts have taken place in the historic courtyard of the Bishop's Castle, which will be opened the same week with the festival after a thorough restoration, but this time the festival will take place in smaller and cozy concert venues. So there are many reasons for you to come to Haapsalu!
The Estonian National Male Choir will give a concert with Russian classical choral music. The Russian Horn Orchestra will offer different music as well as a unique visual experience. The soloists from the St. Petersburg Chamber Opera will perform a solo performance, surprisingly accompanied by the harp. The festival will feature brilliant and already well-known Estonian young musicians, cellist Marcel Johannes Kits and pianist Sten Heinoja; Lukas Geniušas from Lithuania, the laureate of the Tchaikovsky contest, will treat us to a piano evening.
A fairy tale concert with sand-sketches for children and a jazz night with the tunes of Tchaikovsky and Mozart will add color to the festival. The cherry on the cake will be the performance by Eili Neuhaus based on letters written by Tchaikovsky "If there wasn’t that forest in the way."
Days full of music, romance and hopefully the sun is waiting!
