The splendour of Haapsalu, the famous Czarist era resort, is brought to mind by the seafront Promenade and its jewel — the Assembly Hall with its wooden lattice designs. Walk on the sloping promenade and glance dreamily at the sea; check the time at the sundial and have a rest on the bench named for the world-famous composer Tchaikovsky.

Interesting facts: The Promenade starts at the exotically named Africa Beach, and ends at the Chocolate Promenade, which is named after an old café. There is a children’s playground on the Promenade and the town’s only observation tower. There is also a monument to Carl Hunnius, the discoverer of Haapsalu’s therapeutic mud standing just behind the stage.

Spithami village in Noarootsi rural district in Lääne County is a settlement of old coastal Swedes, surrounded by a forest rich in berries and mushrooms, a sea rich in fish, and fresh air with numerous bird species.

Uuemõisa manor a few kilometres away from the centre of Haapsalu was first mentioned in 1539 when it was an Episcopal manor. The last owner before the compulsory sale of the manor, which in the 17th century belonged to the de la Gardie family, was princess Yevgeniya Shakhovskaya. In 1833 a two-storey post-classicist main building was constructed in the manor. In the 1920s the building was reconstructed based on the design made by Karl Burman. As a result, long one-storey wings were added to the building. All of this made it an immensely long building.

At present are in the manor Uuemõisa kindergarten and Primary School. The White Hall of the manor is a good place for concerts.

Ungru Manor is one of the most impressive neo-baroque buildings in Estonia, although the castle was never fully completed. It is an imposing building, which is an almost exact copy of the Merseburg Castle in Germany. Behind the construction of the manor was a sad love story:

Count Ungern-Sternberg fell in love with the daughter of the lord of Merseburg Castle, who had promised to spend her entire life in Merseburg Castle. The count promised to build an exact replica of the building and she agreed to move there. However, the construction stopped when the count’s lover suddenly fell ill and died.
These are mystical ruins in a beautiful place, making it a wonderful place for taking pictures!

The creative work of Epp Maria Kokamägi, one of Estonia’s most famous artists, includes oil paintings, watercolours, book design and theatre and film design. The building, which was built as a café during Estonia’s first period of independence, now houses a gallery over two floors, where exhibitions change according to the seasons. In addition to Epp Maria’s wonderful paintings, you can also enjoy the paintings and furniture created by her husband Jaak Arro, the ceramics of Liisu Arro and the paintings of Imbi Lind.

Haapsalu Kuursaal is a summer restaurant, which is the only one located in a historical original kuursaal in Estonia.

The menu of the summer restaurant of Haapsalu Kuursaal includes delicious locally-made pastries, as well as à la carte, group, and children’s menus. The restaurant also has a wide range of drinks, starting from wines and ending with light summery cocktails. We also offer a large selection of Estonian craft beers (both draught and bottled).

In the summer, the restaurant also offers a tasteful programme of cultural events with different musicians and DJs. There is a balcony overlooking the sea and we also have wheelchair access.

Paralepa beach has always been a sandy beach with one of the warmest water temperatures in Estonia.
In the vicinity of the beach it is possible to use a shower and toilet (for a fee) in Paralepa Camping or at the Hotel Thalasso Spa Fra Mare. On the beach, there are mobile toilets, cabanas, a children’s playground, and a volleyball court. Good to know: The official season is from 1 June to 31 August. During the season, life guards are present every day from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Pay attention to the colours of the flag: Green – swimming is safe and water is warmer than 18ºC; yellow – dangerous for children and the elderly; red – dangerous to all, water is below 16ºC.

The activity park of Haapsalu Neurological Rehabilitation Centre on the Haapsalu promenade is intended for wheelchair users.
This is an important additional option for people who need a wheelchair to move due to an accident or illness. The park’s attractions help both young and older wheelchair users to enjoy the fresh air and exercise. The park offers new opportunities for more versatile and interesting trainings for people in rehabilitation.
In the park, you can swing, play basketball, and do moderate strength training for your hands or feet.

The first part of the trail is a dirt road that runs along the high-voltage power line. The track then reaches the Marimetsa Brook and leads to the rest area along the banks of the brook. From there, a boardwalk will take you to Marimetsa Bog. There is a viewing tower at the end of the trail (7.6 metres high).
In Marimetsa Bog, you will see a fen, a transition bog, a raised bog, and a number of different birds and plants.
The length of the trail is 9 kilometres of which 2 × 2 kilometres is a boardwalk. You should plan 4–5 hours for the hike. The trail is wet at places – make sure to bring your rubber boots. 
There is a dry toilet on the track, benches for resting, and an information board with a map and a scheme of the trail.
